"Sunday In the Park With George" is a Stephen Sondheim musical based on the work of Georges Seurat. The first act reflects a sunny day in 1884 through the painter's eyes.

For this show, I patterned a wool coat with a short lapel and rounded front, featuring functional flap pockets for Georges.

I draped and crafted a ladies' basque for the character Yvonne, which includes a double-pleated peplum at the back and a stand collar. This is accompanied by a gored, box-pleated skirt with a yoke designed to reduce bulk at the waist.

Additionally, I created a Polonaise using two different materials to create the illusion of a vest piece. The Polonaise wraps at the back and is finished with silk trim and long bows. For the character Celeste.
